Two realms are about to be joined into one, but conflict is brewing about who will reign the new realm. You begin with chest and card sleeves of your family as well as an heirloom and 10 rubies. Family portraits are randomly placed into the gallery, their position represents influence at court. A round of the game comprises recruiting, revealing and end of round. To recruit, you select a tributary from a column with cost token, pay with coins and/or rubies, put the tributary into a family card sleeve and put them on the joint stack. For revealing, the stack is shuffled and then cards are revealed one by one and their effects resolved. If you are out of rubies and have also sold your heirloom, you are out of the game. For end of round the joint stack is turned back over again, the cost track is adapted, and a new event card is placed face-down on the joint stack. After four rounds or at the end of the round in which someone was ousted from the game, you receive one ruby for majorities in influence and coins and lose 1 rube for most masked thieves. You win with most rubies.
