Dive

 

Ritual diving for the Holy Stone of the village; you want to be first to find it and bring it up, supported by turtles and manta rays and avoiding sharks. A stack of see-through cards features manta rays, turtles and sharks and represents the ocean. Each round comprises the phases of Planning, Diving and Resting. Planning – you secretly place oxygen markers on your diving board, for depths 1-5 respectively, represented by the first five cards in the stack. For sharks you place the marker showing the shark; for manta rays and turtles you must dive faster than others and can stack oxygen markers for speed. Diving – the top card is resolved; if you planned correctly for shark, your markers stay; if not, markers on this and lower levels are removed. If you then planned correctly for manta rays or turtles and have the highest speed, you advance on the ocean board. Then, the other depths = ocean cards are resolved, if somebody planned for them. Resting – you advance for oxygen markers still in place, then resolved ocean cards are removed. If someone arrived at slot 23 of the ocean board, the stone is found and this player wins.
