Monumental Lost Kingdoms

 

You lead a civilization and develop it with new buildings and wonders, improve your knowledge and cultural development and use military to conquer new provinces. A player turn has four phases- activate city, actions, replenish city and replenish display. A city comprises a card grid 3x3; for a turn you select a complete row plus a complete column, receive the resources - production, science or military, and can use the effects of activated cards in phase 2. Action options are: Acquire development card or basic building card, complete wonder, develop cultural policy. Conquer province, move military, build outpost, play explorers or use effect of activated card or active cultural policy, or make scientific progress. Military moves on a central modular board; unoccupied provinces produce resources for whoever defeats the indigenous barbarians. Hero and monster modules are included, as are suggestions for the layout of the central board.

 

The expansion introduces new civilizations - Aztecs, Amazons, Mughals and Atlanteans, plus new province tiles featuring four new terrain types - island, Aztec pyramid, desert and jungle - as well as new development card and central map layouts for a fifth player.
