36 worm cards of values 1-8 and 9 mother hen cards form the draw pile, you hold a set of chick cards of values 3-7 of one color. In a round as many cards as there are players are drawn and laid out in a row, beginning with position 1 next to the draw pile. Each player plays a card face-down and all are revealed simultaneously. Then all take a card from the display in descending order of the value of their cards played, beginning at position 1. The card you played goes to your discard pile. Then you may play a mother hen to take back two cards in hand from your discard pile. From round 2, you can also play a worm card instead of a chick card. After nine rounds, you add up your worm cards in hand.
