Maji
Two well builders vie for completing their well first; they look for water sources and collect clay bricks for the well curb. Serengeti tiles are placed in a 5x5 grid, water tiles carry one water crystal and if you are not the starting player, you place the worker next to the middle row or column. The active player selects row or column with the worker and takes one tile – you get either bricks, a water crystal, or buffalos which lose you bricks. Then you move the worker to the column or row from which you took the tile, always alternating row and column in the turn. If you have completed a well with minimum one water crystal, or have five water crystals or the worker sits next to an empty column or row and you own minimum one water crystal, you score a ruby and a new round is prepared. If you complete a well without a water crystal or do not have enough water crystals for surplus well parts, your opponent wins a ruby. The first player to own four rubies wins the game. In a variant, goats come into play.
