Gang Rumble with dice

 

You want to be the first to deal out 8 Black Eyes with your gang. You choose a gangs including their Fisticuff markers, Black Exe Markers and six dice in your color. Each gang has six members carrying numbers, name and a special ability for certain dice values. A starting player is determined and players are active in turn. The active player is always the attacker and either chooses attack and fighting a Rumble or to forgo the rumble and lick his wounds. If you choose to declare a rumble, you then choose a target and then attacker and defender can ask for support. Agreements are not binding and need not be kept. If you decide to retreat after the Alliance Phase you receive one black eye for your gang.  

Then the rumble is resolved, using one die for each gang member that has fewer than 2 Black Eyes, using offensive and defensive punches; you set down dice and use special abilities, Resolving the Rumble is followed by a Lull and Healing. For Healing you take one die per wounded gang member and then name the member you want to heal and roll; when the result contains the number of the member you named you heal one black eye. IF you did forgo the rumble and decided to lick your wounds you now do such a healing roll for your gang.

If you have successfully administered eight Black Eyes or if all members of a gang have two Black Eyes at the end of a rumble, the game ends and you win if your own gang has dealt most Black Eyes.

Lots of dice rolling, a bit of tactic to decide where to place your first punch - a rather good simulation of a real rumble, supported by rather nice illustrations. If you like that you will have fun.
