Kniffel Duell

There are games that everybody knows, Kniffel is one of those classics, known in countless variations. Maureen Hiron now has transferred the known mechanisms to a board-dice game for up to 8 players. Players split into two teams who try to bring neutral pawns from the middle of the boards into their own red safety zone at their end of the board. There are nine of these pawns and the team that first manages to have three of them at the same time in their safety zone wins the game. Point for combinations rolled determine the movement of the pawns, each player can move all of them in his move. And here it gets tactical, because one must decide whether to try aggressively to move pawns into one’s own safety zone or whether to act defensively and hinder pawns to be drawn into the opponent’s zone.
