Adventure cards provide the current adventure; the card is places on the corresponding slots on the board. At the start of an adventure you can hire additional Vikings for gold, then you draw cards from your deck. Path card and Viking cards are turned up, and pawns are moved accordingly; at the end of the move you can, in relation to the position you reached, receive rewards or penalties and can then decide to end the adventure or to continue it. At the end of the adventure you can send a Viking to Walhalla by placing a card under your own Walhalla shield - this stack is used for the final adventure.
