PLAYED FOR YOU
Concept
Red and liquid? Wine or catsup?
Pictograms are part of our daily life and in Concept we are asked to use them to explain terms by combining pictograms.
Players form teams of two people; the active team draws a card and chooses one of three terms, in difficulty levels of "easy", "hard" and "challenge". Then the team discusses marker placement and choice of pictograms. First you choose the main concept, marked by a green question mark piece and 10 green cubes, e.g. "film" or "human". Subcategories can be marked in four additional colors with one exclamation mark piece and 8 cubes for each color. The other players guess and the first one to guess correctly scores two points, the presenters score one point each. An Ear, scissors, a palette and human result in Vincent van Gogh! Markers of one color on a building and a piece of metal, markers in another color placed on a globe and on red, white and blue do indicate a building made of iron in a country connected to blue, white and red - Eiffel Tower! Of course a pictogram can mean different things, "cold" can be also "winter".
All other players guess, team members can agree with "yes" but cannot talk directly to players. The order of cube placement can be important and can be repeated for clarification. You can place any number of cubes and markers. If you are first to guess correctly, you score two points, each team member scores one point. When all double chips for correct guesses have been awarded you win with most points.
Concept is an ingenious version in the genre of guessing terms; you need creativity and talent for improvisation, but it is important not to think too complicated if you want to score!
