The magicians enter their trolls into the race to the tower on the Magic Mountain, the troll to arrive first wins the contest for his magician. The trolls are distributed in the villages at the foot of the mountain, the event tiles are placed on the path. The active player plays 2 or 3 cards or exchanges any number of his cards for new cards. The number on the first card played names the troll, the second and maybe third determines the number of spaces he can move. Events on the spaces he lands on are resolved, Magic Stones bring the right to hold an extra card. If the move ends on a spot with a single troll, one can sit on top of him to block him or to change into the next level of the mountain. If the move ends on a spot with 2 trolls, the topmost troll is moved one spot ahead, events are resolved for him. The first troll to reach the tower wins the game, he need not reach it with the exact number.
