CORTEZ
Each player
represents an Aztec or Spanish army leader, aim of the game is to bring as many
soldiers of one’s own troop into Tenochtitlan. All soldiers start at the
marked spots, each player marks 2
soldiers with neck rings of his own colour. An event card is turned over for
the active player, bridges, attack or escape involve him alone, supplies,
looting, mutiny and bribery involve all players. Then the active player has 2
actions, he can move as far as he wants, or pick up supplies or pick up soldier
cards. If he moves, he may only change between water and land in harbours and
for moving over other troops than his own he must lay out a disguise card.
Fights, recruiting and additional supplies occur according to the final square
of the move. At the end of the game the winning nation is determined and
players receive points for each soldier of the winning nation in Tenochtitlan,
each treasure card, each gold card and each bribery card with victory points,
the player with the highest total wins.
