Pirates have taken Long John Silver prisoner and try to get the location of his treasure, which he hides at the beginning of the game. He also tries to be first to find the treasure. Until it is found, Silver and pirates play days, comprising Updating Calendar (Silver), maybe Calendar events (Silver) and up to two Actions (active pirate). Silver must give clues to the pirates in regulated ways and escapes when the marker arrives at the escape case on the calendar track; he can now use horse movement to reach the treasure and each pirate now always has two actions. Whichever faction reaches the treasure first, wins.
