Mystic Vale

Craft cards to save the lands

There is a curse on the lands and you set out to revitalize the land. This you do using Card Crafting, which is assembling cards from part-cards, that is.

Cards in the game are see-trough and only printed on in one third, top, middle or bottom. You have a starter set of 20 cards in sleeves. During the game you acquire new cards, so-called Advancements, which are also printed on one third, and slide them into sleeves, until all three possible slots are taken, to “build” the cards in your deck.

Your cards are stacked face-down in your deck and your discard pile, or displayed in your „field“; the open top card of your deck is the so-called deck card; as regards to card texts, the deck card does not count towards your deck or towards your field; and only the symbols for growth and decay are active on your deck card.

Ein Zug: Prep phase - you play your current deck card into the field and reveal a new one, until a minimum of three decay symbols is visible. Planting - Optionally putting deck card into the field and checking  on „Field spoil“ - four or more decay symbol on cards, every growth symbol neutralizes a decay symbol - or pass. If you pass, you continue with Harvest - you can buy Advancement cards for Mana and Vale cards four soul symbols on your cards and take victory points. In case of “Field Spoil” or after Harvest comes Discard - Advancements are sleeved with other cards and open common displays of Advancement and Vale cards are replenished. When all victory point tokens have been taken, you win with most victory points on cards and tokens.

Beautifully designed, tactically demanding and a thrilling challenge to create the optimum interacting card combinations.
