C. C. Higgins Rail Pass

Across North America on rails

On rails across North America - you collect sets of Rail Passes and travel on the historically and geographically correct railway lines of North America in the Roaring Twenties of the 20th Century. You begin your trip with your train in Chicago, take the Payday Card of corresponding color and place one marker on each of the destinations listed on the card. The starting player for the first round moves his train one step, the next one each one step more until four steps for each player per turn are achieved. Several trains in a city are possible. A player turn represents one day. At the end of you turn you pay 1$ for each City you passed, 2$ for Lodgings, 2$ for Food and 1$ for telegrams; you pay those costs even if you do not move and you pay at the end of your turn, before you receive income. Rail Passes that you own can give you free movement. After your movement you can acquire Rail Passes. If you end your turn on one of your Payday Markers, you receive 50$ from the bank. Whoever reaches his last destination first, ends the game and you score Rail Passes - three points per card, if you own a complete set; 2 points if you have the majorities of cards of a set, and 1 point for any other Rail Pass card. A card can be scored several times for belonging to sets of Railroad Type, Affiliation and Color. You win with most points.

A specialty for fans of railway games - planning is necessary to use the scarce money as efficiently as possible to collect Rail Passes; expensive passes for free lodgings or free food can save lots of money in the long run. Best for collectors and specialized players.
