Black Sheep and White Sheep

Two flocks of sheep, one black, one white, meet at the opposite ends of a bridge, but the bridge is too narrow for passing and so you try to be across the bridge first. You alternate turns, can only move one sheep or one stack of sheep and win, if you are first to have all your sheep at the other side of the bridge. At the start, you toss your sheep for their status - on meadow or in mud. You move a sheep to the adjacent free slot or jump over one or several sheep of the same status; on a sheep of the other status, you stack your sheep. ON free slots on the middle island you must - in a game for three and four players - rest your sheep. Originally, the rules used status awake/asleep instead of meadow/mud.
