36 monsters and their shadows need to be paired. You reveal two tiles - if you find a pair, you keep it, otherwise tiles are put back. When all pairs are found, you win with most pairs.
In the Schreck-Monster / Threat Monster version, there are special rules for three pairs: If you reveal a threat monster and then its counterpart shadow, all is well and you keep the pair. If, however, you cannot match the monster with its shadow, you put both cards back and special rules apply: For “Lummy”, you hand your collected pairs to your right neighbor, and for “Shock” to your left neighbor. In case of “Alarm”, all cards in the display on the table are shuffled.
