Sir Ozelot and Professor Penguin explore a system of caves and vie in collecting gems. You use compass, lamp and pickaxe to find and collect gems, assisted by the companions, bat and moth. In a turn you may relocate the companion – from blue level 1 to green level 2 or from green to red level3, where they remain. Then you must place a tile – a tool at the edge of a cave or your companion into level 1. Finally, you can collect gems, they must be in line of sight of three different tools, the companion can replace a tool. Geodes yield amethysts, celestites have one of three shapes, a complete set also yields an amethyst. When all tiles are placed, you score crystals, celestites, opals, emeralds, beryls and amethysts.
