PLAYED FOR YOU
Die Legenden von Blue Moon
Vulca versus Hoax
As one of the heirs rivaling for the Throne of Blue Moon you win dragons if you win confrontations and shards of the Holy Crystal. Dragons begin in the middle of the board and each player holds a deck for one of the nine people, Vulca and Hoax to begin with, and starts with six cards. Players alternate as active player. As such you can begin a confrontation that can cover several turns. The phases of a turn are: 1) Starting phase with implementation of special start-of-turn abilities, 2) Leader phase with playing of a Leader action 3) Combat phase with beginning or continuing a confrontation or withdrawal, 4) Character phase with playing of a character card to begin a confrontation or continue it, followed by 5) Support and reinforcement phase with playing of a suitable card and then 6) Power phase with naming of combat values in one of the elements and then 7) Replenishing phase with drawing cards up to six in hand and 8) Final Phase with implementing end-of-turn abilities.
When a player withdraw from a confrontation the player who did not retreat attracts one or two dragons - either from the board to his side or from the opponent onto the board. You win if you have more dragons on your side when one of the end-of-game conditions happens.
The power-comparing mechanism in analogy to trading card games is modified in this elaborate new edition by the individual card effects and the abilities of the nine different peoples and provides an amazingly dense atmosphere, the chance element from drawing cards is manageable. If you missed Blue Moon or Blue Moon City take a chance at the Legends of Blue Moon.
