PLAYED FOR YOU
Bongo
Gnu or Rhino for Two Bamboo?
Seven dice show numbers from 1 to 3 or images of three different African animals that we want to take pictures of for trophies.
In the Standard game you roll the beige animal dice and the yellow bamboo dice for numbers. The bamboo dice determine which of the animals rolled you must name. If both bamboo dice show the same number, you name an animal that is present as often. If the numbers are different you name an animal present as often as the missing number. But: Should two types of animal be present as often as the missing number you must name the third type of animal - e.g. if the Two is missing and you rolled two Gnus, two Bongos and one Rhino you need to name Rhino! When the condition cannot be met you call out NOTHING, yes, you say NOTHING, not being silent! Whoever names the right animal fastest, wins a trophy chip in the animal color; if you correctly called NOTHING, you can choose a trophy color.
In case of a mistake you must give a trophy to another player! If you say NOTHING mistakenly, you must give away all your trophies. You win with two trophies of each color or a minimum of six trophies of one color.
In the expert version two Poacher dice are added: For two identical animals you reduce this animal by one, in case of different animals the third type is reduced by one. The Gamekeeper dice as additional variant protects from the Poacher dice.
A well-made variation of the KIM mechanism to find something that you do not see. But the slight difference between two identical and two different bamboo symbols entices you to react too quickly in this nice challenge! What did Bruno Faidutti say? "Looks silly, but is real fun"!
