MEDINA

 

Madina is the name for an islamic, north african city center, the board shows a grid for sucha city. Only the towers are left from ancient times. In his move each player must put 2 of his wooden pieces onto the board, he chooses between buildings, walls, citizens, stables or roofs. When a player puts one of his 4 roofs onto a group of buildings, this group turns into that player’s palace. This palace cannot be enlarged by buildings, but can gain additional value by stables, citizens or walls. In the course of the game it becomes more and more difficult to position pieces gainfully. The game ends, when each player has built a palace in each of the four colours. The players with the biggest total of points wins.
