Im Schatten des Kaisers

Players represent families in Germany’s late Middle Ages presenting their demand for the imperial crown. They collect victory points by builing up cities or rising to the position of prince elector, after 5 rounds with 8 phases each the player with the most victory points wins. The phases are income, aging, children, actions, new prince electors, emperor election, emperor actions and repositioning of round marker. Complex mechanisms are used to redistribute power, core of the game are the action cards, which can be bought.
