Over rocks to the ship
Sheep have missed the rescue ship and must now race across the rocks to catch the ship and get off the island. You take a starting tile, a ship tile and a sheep, which you place on the turtle depicted on the starting tile. The ocean tiles are shuffled and distributed face down on the table; they show sheep on the backside and and on the face-down front rocks in six different colors. If it is your turn you roll the color die, turn over an ocean tile in the color you rolled and place it between starting card and ships. Tiles taken in further turns are always placed between the last tile and the ship so that the track to the ship gets longer and longer. If you roll a color in which you already have an ocean tile in your track, you may move your sheep towards the ship. The sheep can advance a number of steps equal to the number of rocks on the ocean tile of respective color. The maximum length of a race track is six ocean tiles. The ship must not be reached with an exact number of steps: As soon as you enter the ship the remaining movement points are void. If you manage to be first to move your sheep onto the ship first, you have won the race to be rescued from the island!
This is a really, really simple game of roll & move and yet a thrilling race; the topic is fun and interesting for children. By the by and on the run children train counting and color recognition, with pink and purple the color die features two secondary colors that are usually not often found on color dice. The result of the game is exclusively determined by the luck of the roll and you do not always automatically win with the shortest track.
