Location tiles and story tiles are laid out, as are the corresponding dice. The blue die determines the location - the suitable board is set down showing the location. Then the green die determines the character, then the yellow die is rolled for the support character and, finally, the orange die gives you the end of the story and the story can be read. Support by someone able to read is necessary.
