Fate and rumors

In this game of dice and cards you guide one person through his or her life and make decisions; you roll combinations to acquire cards which in turn provide symbols and special abilities; with those cards you exert influence on friends, relationships, job and other activities. Basic mechanism is rolling dice for combinations in analogy to Yahtzee or Poker combinations in order to acquire cards with those combinations.

In the Gossip expansion the aim of the game is the same as in the basic game – you want to collect sets of cards and to score most points with it. In Gossip two new types of cards are introduced: Gossip and Fate. The Gossip cards are sorted by their backsides and shuffled into the packs from the core game for young adults, middle age and old age. Fate cards are shuffled and stacked face-down, two of them are turned over. The two new goal cards Spontaneous and Multi Talented are shuffled into the goal cards from the core game.

When a Gossip card appears, you can buy it and then place it into your own CV or that of an opponent. Gossip cards are stacked, the top one is active; they cannot be lost by Bad Luck / Misfortune and count towards the limit of 2 cards acquisition per turn and for the claiming of social assistance. In the final scoring each Gossip card is worth two points. Fate cards can be bought in the “select card” phase and the luck and bad luck symbols used do not count towards the check for bad luck.

CV Gossip makes the idyllic world from CV a but less bright and a bit more realistic; if you prefer to play without your rose-colored glasses, you will like the pinch of reality.
