Doodle Monster

Chasing monsters with crayons

Dragon Julius and their friends chase nice monsters to portrait them.

In the basic version each player is given a sheet of paper and Monster Card and templates for Monster body parts are laid out. In turn you turn over one red and one green chip: The green chip indicates the monster body part that you can draw, using the template, and the red chip indicates the pattern for it; the color is your own choice. What the Monster's body should look like is indicated by the Monster card. When you have finished drawing the current body part you turn both chips back over again and put them back into the pool - all should remember the positions in case they want to use this body part or pattern. Thus all players in turn draw their monster; if you turn up a body part that you did already draw you must pass your turn. Whoever finishes his monster first, wins.

In the advanced version each player is given his own personal Monster card showing and individual monster with parameters for color and pattern and body shape. In this version you use the green and yellow chips - the yellow ones show additional body parts like claws, eyes or mouth - and try to turn over the necessary body parts quickly and paint them in the given scheme for color and pattern. You again have to pass your turn if you turn up body parts that you did already draw or which you do not need for your monster.

A nice drawing game which trains motor skill by using templates, color sense, close observation via arm and leg chips for left and right, and of course it is fun, and of course you can draw your own monsters either using the templates or in free-hand drawing.
