All players want to stay as clean as they can and throw mud at others. You have 7 cards in hand; the starting player combines 1x water and 1x sand card to mud and throws it at a player by placing it in front of him. If this player cannot or will not deflect the mud he must set aside them face-up for mud points at the end of the game. If you want to deflect you play either umbrella cards equal to the value of the mud or special cards. Deflected mud cards and umbrella cards go out of the game. Special cards are ventilator, fall winds, oilskin or deviating or distribution. When mud has been slung you can perfect it with one card to show equal values of sand and water and can then re-direct it.
