Each player represents one
of the rich noble families, known for their support of artists. Each player
tries to get as many of the 21 artists and scientists as possible to come to
his court to do their work. For their art they need rooms, environment and
freedom of speech or religion etc. Buildings and environment demand money and
space, freedom demands money. Play goes over 7 rounds, each round has 2 phases.
In phase 1 players choose an intent like wood, lake,
park, jester, builder etc., a draw in choices is resolved by bidding in money.
In Phase 2 players act according to their resources, the bey
freedoms or engage artists or create a work of art or change those into victory
points.
