Players assume the role of Jakob Fugger. First the loan money to noble men and then they demand their returns. The higher the loan is, the bigger the chance to reap a profit in form of privileges. These privileges are used to get more money or the collect offices, honours and prestige points. The 4 to 7 rounds have 2 phases each: in phase 1 players use dept notes to bed in auctions for noblemen, the winner of a bid receives a privilege card and enacts two of the three privileges offered. In Phase 2 players earn money depending on the level of their factories, prestige depending on the degree of their nobility and dept notes depending on their level of office. The player with the most prestige points wins.
