Neo-Chess
Pieces are marked on opposite sides and are used according to standard chess rules, only the King is one-sided. A captured piece is taken off the board and turned over to the other player’s color, it thus becomes a reserve piece of the capturing player, who can introduce the piece on any square of the board with the exception of rank eight. When a pawn reaches rank eight, he can be swapped for any piece of the opposing reserve.
There exists a prototype called Mad Mate for this game, that was never produced in commercial amounts.
