36 commodity discs are shuffled and randomly stacked in 9 stacks. As the active player you move the trader one, two or three steps and then take the top commodity from the two stacks adjacent to the trader to the left and right. Of those two commodities you keep one, the other is discarded = sold and its exchange rate goes down by one; rates can only fall! When there are only two stacks left you add the value of all your commodities according to the current exchange rate and win with the highest total. In the expert version you move the trader clock-wise any number of steps, but no further than to the same commodity that you left at the start of the move.
