1830 is a railway game and an economics game: Each player tries to get rich in the developing railway industry in the USA – be it by shares in companies, clever trading with shares well-laid tracks. Private money of a player and company many are strictly separate, engines become obsolete in the course of the game and new ones must be bought. Tracks are laid and trains run, in later phases of the game you can cover track with better track.
