You learn and cast spells and need Materia – in seven colors, and marked with runes – for currency, some spell effects are connected to runes. You participate in the Grand Ritual and acquire Material from the bag = Vortex to use for learning new spells or storing with Confidantes. The game features – selected as stated – one spell of each color, comprising three cards. In your turn you have one action for each of three points in the day, can forfeit a time and have only standard action at the start: In the morning, you can take or draw Materia, at noon you can store Materia and in the evening you can learn a spell; newly learned spells can provide additional actions: If someone has learned the last spell or stored one Materia on the last lost of their board, you score at the end of the round points from spells learned and the lowest visible value of the board.
