Heuschrecken Poker

 

You bid for the garden display to collect sets of plants, but the grasshoppers interfere. You have a set of eight poker cards, three garden cards are on display. You play a poker card face-down and all reveal their card simultaneously – the highest bid begins to take cards, selecting one type and taking all those cards, the other players follow in order of their bids, you must take a card! Identical cards cancel each other out, they do not count for taking cards. If you played the ace, you take all cards, for the X you get nothing; but if X and Ace were played, X takes all cards. Cards won are placed in your garden, the poker card is out of play for the round. If you have three cards of the same type in your garden, you swap them for a chip. Three grasshoppers in a garden annihilate the garden. When all eight cards are played, the garden with most plants wins one chip and a new round begins. When all garden cards are used up, you win after a last scoring with most chips.
