Strasbourg The Age of the Guilds
Strasbourg in the 15th century, the politics in the town are heavily influenced by the guilds. Players represent families of Strasbourg and want to place family members with the guilds. You need influence points to be accepted as an apprentice, journeyman or master, if you can pay the entry fee! In five rounds 3 phases each are played: The Planning Phase, it can be implemented simultaneously by all players; you pick up influence cards from your own draw pile, any number, but you cannot put one back. Then you make up several stacks of these cards, as you wish. In the action phase 7 out of 9 steps are influence steps, which are handled according to strict rules and result in one or more actions for some players, the remaining 2 steps are building steps for chapel and buildings. The last phase is called Council Phase and players score prestige points for family members in the Council and also privileges which later can be used in the action phase. After five rounds the player with the most prestige points wins.
