Café INTERNATIONAL Das Kartenspiel

 

Based on the Game of the Year 1989, Café International. Players try to win points by placing guest cards around the table cards. 5 table cards are laid out in form of an X, each player receives 7 guest cards, the remaining cards of both kinds are placed face down for draw piles. The active player must do one of the following three moves: place 1-3 cards from his hand around table cards, draw a guest card from the pile or put a guest card face down in front of himself. A guest card can be placed, when on a minimum of one side guest card and gable card show the same nationality, gender and number of guests per table are given in the rules. If one places a card, one must score points with it. Full tables and the guest cards surrounding them are taken out of the game, new table cards are put out. One may only hold 12 guest cards, a surplus that cannot be played must be put face down (see moves). The game ends, if any of the tow draw piles is finished or if a player has no cards in his hand and declares the game finished.
